Listed below are some of the common questions people ask about treatment at the Phoenix Individual Retreat, although you can contact us at any time for any further information you require.
How do I know if I have an addiction or mood disorder?
Clients seek treatment for a variety of reasons: perhaps they have been advised to do so by a doctor or other healthcare professional; they may have friends and family who are concerned about their behaviour; or they may simply be worried about their own behaviour and well-being.
Our self-assessment tests provide a fast and simple way of identifying whether or not there might be a problem. We can then work with you to discuss further and talk about whether rehabilitation treatment is the right solution for you.
My loved one has a problem but doesn’t want to get help. What should I do?
It’s important that your loved one makes the decision for themselves about seeing treatment for their addiction or mental health condition. If they are not yet ready to make that decision, it can be heart-breaking for family members. In situations like this, the most important thing you can do is assure them of your love and remind them that when they do want help, you will support them in this decision. It’s also important to care for yourself during periods when a loved one is suffering from a chronic disease such as addiction.
What medical treatment is available through the Phoenix Individual Retreat?
On entering treatment, our medical team will conduct a full medical assessment of every client. This includes extensive medical tests and laboratory analysis. This includes a full blood analysis, electrocardiogram tests (ECGs), examination of renal, coronary and circulatory functions, plus endocrinological tests and examination of gastrointestinal tract.
Where necessary, clients will undergo a medically-supervised detoxification programme at our partner hospital, Highcare Medical Centre.
You will also see our doctor regularly throughout your stay who will check your ongoing health and oversee any medication required.
What psychiatric treatment is available through The Phoenix Individual Retreat?
We work with Psychiatrists for comprehensive mental health assessments and medication reviews. Often, addiction and substance dependency can occur because of an undiagnosed mental health concern such as anxiety, depression, trauma or other mood disorder.
What therapy is available?
Each client follows a tailored therapy programme – their Phoenix Pathway – which is designed to provide the best treatment for their particular needs and preferences. This will draw upon a wide range of therapy solutions from psychotherapy to creative therapies and from cognitive based therapy (CBT) to Family & Systemic Therapy.
How many guests are there?
We have just one individual guest at any time, so you have very personal attention.
Where will I stay?
Your luxury villa is spacious and provides your own place to relax, refocus and re-energise. You will have exclusive use of the villa and its grounds throughout your stay.
Will I be able to use my phone and the internet?
Phoenix Individual Retreat offers a safe haven from the stresses and strains of everyday life and it is important that clients are able to focus on themselves and their recovery, with as few distractions as possible. Consequently, access to mobile phones and the internet is carefully controlled although where clients need to continue their professional or business commitments this can be arranged.
How much free time do I have?
Your recovery is the single most important focus of your stay with us. That will include a mixture of therapy, rest and relaxation, medical appointments, exercise and more. Your personalised schedule is filled with activities that have proven to be effective in recovery and the rehabilitation process.
How long does treatment last?
The length of treatment will depend on your particular needs and circumstances and will typically last between six weeks and six months. If you require detox, we will discuss this with you and how long it will take. Your residential stay is then tailored to achieve the outcomes you are looking for in the time you have available.
Is aftercare provided?
When clients leave the Phoenix Individual Retreat they do so with a completely new outlook and perspective, as well as a suite of strategies and coping mechanisms to help them thrive in their new life.
However, re-engaging with the outside world can be a very dangerous time which is why we offer one of the most comprehensive aftercare packages in the world to ensure that clients continue their recovery journey long after leaving the Retreat
What are the costs of programs?
We believe that every client should experience nothing short of complete perfection, which has rightly earned us a reputation as one of the world’s most exclusive treatment centres. By offering the very highest levels of service and comfort we are able to care for private individuals who demand the very best.
Each client’s journey to recovery is as individual as they are and each we do not offer ‘off the peg’ treatment solutions. As part of the admissions programme, we prepare a comprehensive report – the Phoenix Pathway – which contains full information on proposed treatment plans and services, together with a full breakdown of costs.
